Aspire People are recruiting Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across primary and secondary schools in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

These roles are suited to individuals who are confident managing challenging behaviour and understand the importance of building positive relationships with pupils who may experience barriers to learning.

The Role:

* Providing 1:1 and small-group support
* Supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural, and emotional needs
* Helping pupils recognise and regulate their emotions
* Supporting positive behaviour and individual behaviour strategies
* Building trusting and consistent relationships with pupils
* Helping pupils remain engaged within lessons
* Supporting transitions, breaktimes, and other less structured periods
* Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence
* Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and other professionals

The Ideal Candidate:

* Recent experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
* Confident managing difficult or heightened situations calmly
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Patient, resilient, and consistent
* Able to establish clear boundaries while maintaining positive relationships
* Understanding of emotional regulation and the reasons behind behaviour
* Confident working independently on a 1:1 basis
* Experience within a school, youth work, mentoring, care, or similar setting is desirable
