Job Overview

Supply Staff Ltd is seeking enthusiastic, patient and adaptable SEN Supply Teachers for opportunities in specialist primary schools across East London.

We have day-to-day supply work available, alongside potential longer-term placements covering staff absence, sickness and maternity leave. These opportunities are suitable for qualified teachers with experience or a strong interest in supporting primary-aged pupils with special educational needs.

You will be working with children who may have a range of additional learning, communication, developmental and behavioural needs, helping them access education in a supportive and structured environment.

Lesson planning and marking are provided for these placements, allowing you to focus on teaching, pupil progress and classroom management.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons and activities to primary-aged pupils with special educational needs.

• Adapt teaching approaches to meet pupils' individual learning abilities and requirements.

• Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom.

• Support pupils' academic, social and personal development.

• Encourage engagement, communication and independence.

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other support staff.

• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching primary-aged pupils.

• SEN teaching experience is highly desirable.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• A patient, flexible and understanding approach.

• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

• The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual pupil needs.
