Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a friendly 2-form entry primary school in Wigan. This position is to start in November on an ongoing basis.
The Role
Working within a collaborative KS1 team, you will play a vital role in supporting the transition and development of the school's learners. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering the KS1 curriculum.
Leading small group activities focusing on Phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar), literacy, and numeracy.
Observations and contributing to student profiles/assessments.
Providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment through indoor and outdoor play.
Supporting pupils with diverse needs, ensuring every child thrives.

This Wigan-based primary school is known for its welcoming "family" feel and its commitment to staff wellbeing. As a 2-form entry school, you will benefit from working alongside another TA and teacher, allowing for shared planning and support.
Requirements
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Proven experience working within KS1.
A patient, creative, and energetic approach to learning.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
Legal right to work in the UK.
