Could you be the calm, consistent adult who helps a child feel settled, understood and ready to learn?
Academics are seeking a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant in Redbridge to support pupils who need additional help with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in school.
This role would suit someone who understands that children can face barriers to learning and that patience, clear boundaries and positive relationships can help them move forward. You'll play an important part in creating a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to make positive choices and recognise their own potential.
A role where relationships come first
Some pupils need extra guidance to manage their emotions, respond to challenges and build confidence in the classroom. Your approach will be key to helping them feel secure, develop coping strategies and engage more positively with school life.
You'll work alongside teachers and other staff to provide consistent support, encourage positive behaviour and recognise progress along the way.
Your day could involve:
- Building trusting relationships with pupils who need additional emotional or behavioural support.
- Encouraging emotional regulation and positive ways to respond to challenges.
- Maintaining clear, fair and consistent boundaries.
- Helping pupils participate in lessons and classroom routines.
- Reinforcing positive choices, resilience and independence.
- Sharing observations with the teaching team to support consistent approaches.
What are we looking for?
Someone who is patient, emotionally resilient and confident responding to a range of situations. Experience in SEN, SEMH, behaviour support or pastoral work would be an advantage.
You'll bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills and a genuine belief that every child deserves the chance to succeed.
Why consider this opportunity?
- £93-£120 per day.
- Immediate start through to July 2027.
- Potential to secure a permanent position.
- The chance to develop your SEN and behaviour-support experience.
- A rewarding role where your consistency and encouragement can have a lasting impact.
If you're ready to help children overcome barriers, build resilience and feel more confident at school, we'd love to hear from you.
