Are you a Sports Graduate or PE Graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with young people in a secondary school?
This is an excellent opportunity for a Sports Graduate who enjoys working with young people and can use their sporting background to build positive relationships, encourage teamwork and develop students' confidence, resilience and engagement with school.
The Role - Sports Graduate Mentor in Ealing
As a Sports Graduate Mentor, you will work predominantly with students in Years 7, 8 and 9, providing mentoring, behavioural and pastoral support alongside assisting students within lessons.
Your sporting background will be valuable in helping students develop positive attitudes, self-discipline, teamwork and resilience. There may also be opportunities to support sporting activities and extracurricular provision.
Key responsibilities include:Sports Graduate Mentor in Ealing
* Mentoring students across Years 7, 8 and 9
* Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring
* Supporting positive behaviour, motivation and student engagement
* Building strong and positive relationships with students
* Acting as a consistent and positive role model
* Encouraging confidence, resilience, teamwork and self-discipline
* Supporting students within lessons and helping them remain focused
* Helping students overcome barriers to learning
* Using sport and physical activity to encourage positive behaviour
* Supporting extracurricular and sporting activities where appropriate
* Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
The Ideal Sports Graduate
The school is looking for a Sports Graduate or PE Graduate with the personality and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on students.
* A degree in Sport, Sports Science, PE, Coaching or a related subject
* A genuine passion for sport and working with young people
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Confidence mentoring and motivating secondary school students
* A positive approach to behaviour management
* Coaching, mentoring, tutoring or youth work experience would be advantageous
You do not need to be a qualified teacher. This Sports Graduate Mentor role is an excellent opportunity to gain secondary school experience and develop mentoring, behaviour management and classroom skills.
- Location: Ealing, West London
- Working Pattern: 4 days per week
- Start Date: September 2026
- Contract: Long-term
