Purpose of the role Project Manager - Interim
The interim Project Manage will support the Programme Director with the day-to-day project management, coordination, control and reporting of the CAST programme. The role will help move the programme from strategy and action planning into controlled delivery by maintaining programme plans, governance, reporting, risk and issue management, dependency tracking, budget monitoring, benefits monitoring and delivery evidence. The postholder will also undertake standard project management duties, including meeting coordination, action follow-up, stakeholder liaison, documentation control, issue resolution support and day-to-day progress tracking across agreed workstreams.
2. Scope of work Project Manager - Interim
- maintain the integrated CAST programme plan and key milestones
- coordinate programme governance, including Programme Board, workstreams, DLT engagement and senior reporting
- prepare highlight reports, dashboards, decision logs and action trackers
- maintain RAID, dependency, decision, action, budget and benefits trackers
- support the Programme Lead to identify slippage, resourcing pressures, delivery risks and escalation points
- provide day-to-day project management support, including meeting planning, agenda preparation, minutes, action follow-up and progress chasing
- coordinate workstream inputs, workshop logistics, stakeholder engagement and documentation so delivery activity stays organised and visible
- maintain project documentation, version control and evidence records in line with agreed programme standards
- support change control, milestone tracking and delivery assurance across agreed CAST activity
- track delivery against the Customer Experience Strategy, public action plan and internal delivery plan
- ensure workstream leads provide timely, consistent and evidence-based updates.
3. Required skills and experience Project Manager - Interim
- project management and PMO experience in a complex organisation
- ability to coordinate meetings, actions, workshops, stakeholder inputs and day-to-day delivery activity
- good documentation management, version control and project administration discipline
- experience supporting change control, delivery assurance and escalation of blockers
- experience supporting transformation, digital, technology or customer service change
- ability to manage plans, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and benefits
- strong written reporting and governance skills
- ability to work with senior leaders, service managers and operational teams
- experience producing highlight reports, board packs, trackers and action logs
- ability to work at pace and bring structure to ambiguity
- public sector or local government experience is desirable.
