An Ofsted 'Outstanding' secondary school in Havering is searching for a confident and driven English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team for a ASAP start.
This is a full time & term time only role, with scope for teacher training from September 2027 or 2028.
This is the perfect opportunity for an English Graduate Teaching Assistant who is considering a career in teaching and is eager to gain valuable, hands-on classroom experience before committing to a PGCE.
The Head Teacher is passionate about developing graduates into outstanding educators and offers extensive in-house training and continuous support to all Teaching Assistants.
If you are passionate about English Literature or Language and want to inspire students to develop their reading, writing and analytical skills, then this English Graduate Teaching Assistant role could be ideal for you.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- English Graduate Teaching Assistant
- September 2026 start
- Full Time - Term Time Only
- £105 - £120 per day
- Supporting students across KS3, KS4 & KS5 within the English Department
- Delivering targeted interventions for literacy, reading comprehension & essay writing
- Supporting exam preparation & revision sessions
- Located in Havering
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- 1st Class / 2:1 English, English Literature or related degree from a reputable University
- Strong academic background, particularly in English
- Passionate about education and making a difference
- Confident, articulate and proactive
- Ideal for an aspiring English Teacher
