Financial Accountant

We're recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a global business in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious ACCA, CIMA or ACA studier seeking exposure to financial reporting, statutory accounts, month-end, audit, VAT, balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts across UK and European entities.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and posting month-end and annual journals
• Performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting statutory accounts preparation
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
• Supporting external audits and responding to auditor requests
• Preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Assisting with UK and EU VAT returns
• Supporting tax compliance and regulatory filings
• Managing general ledger activity and financial controls
• Producing financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors

About You

We're looking for candidates with hands-on financial accounting experience who are keen to continue progressing their accounting career.

You'll ideally have:

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAS or equivalent
• Experience preparing and posting journals
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Experience supporting external audits
• Knowledge of financial accounting principles and statutory reporting
• Strong month-end accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Lookups and large data analysis
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
