Job summary

Are you looking for a role where your work makes a real difference, supporting the Trust to respond effectively to claims and inquests? We are seeking a motivated, organised and resilient individual to join our dedicated Claims and Inquests Support Team.

As one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country, our work covers a diverse range of mental and physical health services, allowing you to gain experience in high profile and complex cases while developing specialist skills in claims and inquest management. You will work as part of a friendly, supportive team that is committed to learning, continuous improvement and delivering a high quality service to patients, families, colleagues and external stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, managing competing priorities and working with a wide range of stakeholders. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a blend of home and office based working, together with the chance to build expertise in a unique and rewarding area of NHS governance and legal services.

If you are highly organised, have excellent attention to detail and are looking to take the next step in your career within a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.

At present, the Trust is unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this post. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.

Liaise with the Trust's external solicitors, NHS Resolution and Trust staff to facilitate the effective progression of claims.

Support the investigation and reporting of claims, including obtaining relevant documentation, coordinating witness statements, preparing disclosure bundles and reporting matters to NHS Resolution as required.

Interrogate Trust systems and undertake further enquiries to identify information not contained within healthcare records, including incidents, complaints and relevant investigation reports.

Undertake initial assessment of claims, identify required evidence and liaise with relevant teams to obtain supporting documentation within required timescales.

Maintain and update electronic case management systems, ensuring accurate records are retained and key actions, risks and deadlines are effectively monitored.

Ensure the timely preservation of documentation, equipment and other evidence required for the investigation and defence of claims.
