Personalised Classroom Support

• An SEN Teaching Assistant may provide 1:1 support for pupils working towards agreed EHCP targets.
• The SEN Teaching Assistant will reinforce phonics, reading and numeracy tasks using clear instructions and suitable resources.
• As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support communication, transitions and emotional regulation using school-approved approaches.
• A reliable SEN Teaching Assistant will share relevant progress observations with teachers and SENCOs while encouraging pupil independence.
• Maintain professional boundaries, respond to individual needs respectfully and follow safeguarding procedures.

What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant

• Previous SEN Teaching Assistant or SEND experience, or credible transferable experience in childcare, tutoring, care, mentoring or youth work.
• An understanding of autism, ADHD or communication differences, with willingness to learn pupil-specific strategies.
• Calm communication, patience and confidence following individual support plans.
• Reliable attendance, flexibility between schools and strong safeguarding awareness.
