Supporting Early Reading and Classroom Progress

• A KS1 Teacher will plan systematic phonics, reading, writing and early mathematics lessons matched to the school's curriculum.
• The KS1 Teacher will use ongoing assessment to spot misconceptions and adapt activities for pupils at different starting points.
• As a KS1 Teacher, you will create predictable routines and positive behaviour expectations that help younger pupils feel secure.
• An effective KS1 Teacher will collaborate with Teaching Assistants to support SEND, communication development and small-group interventions.
• Communicate clearly with families, contribute to phase planning and maintain accurate safeguarding and assessment records.

What We're Looking For in a KS1 Teacher

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for a KS1 Teacher.
• Experience teaching or training in Key Stage 1, including knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics.
• Confidence differentiating learning, assessing early progress and managing a primary classroom.
• Reliable communication, collaborative working and sound safeguarding awareness.
