Management Accountant

Robert Half Finance & Accounting are partnering with a leading Retail business in London to recruit an immediate, Interim Management Accountant for 6 months.

Role:

Our client is looking for an immediate interim Management Accountant to assist them for 6 months. You will be responsible for following duties:

• Manage and coordinate regular supplier payment runs, ensuring payments are accurate, authorised, and made on time.
• Oversee the processing, coding, and posting of supplier invoices and payments.
• Manage purchase orders and ensure appropriate controls are in place for purchasing and invoice approval.
• Maintain accurate supplier accounts and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Ensure supplier balances and payment records are regularly reconciled.

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete, and delivered within agreed deadlines.
• Prepare and review month-end cost reporting, with particular emphasis on food and beverage costs.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, including general ledger and stock accounts.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, and stock adjustments as part of the month-end process.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure fixed asset accounting is accurate and up to date.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.

• Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
• Monitor daily cash positions and provide visibility of available funds and upcoming payment commitments.
• Oversee banking activities, including the posting and reconciliation of payments.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Work closely with the MD to provide timely updates on cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance.

• Maintain accurate stock accounting records and ensure stock movements and adjustments are correctly reflected in the accounts.
• Review stock accruals and ensure costs are recognised in the correct accounting periods.
• Work with operational teams to investigate cost variances and improve financial reporting accuracy.

Profile:

The successful interim Management Accountant will have 2+ years experience.
You must be immediate or 1 weeks notice to be considered for this role.

Salary & Benefits:

This role is paying between £21-£25p/h + Holiday (DOE)
