Job summary
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit into the role of Senior Management Accountant. This is a key role supporting the Estates Services and within the broader finance team and operates within the financial management team supporting the functioning and delivery of high quality financial information and reporting.
This role will be working within the Corporate and Estates Divisional Finance Management Team with the primary aim of preparing monthly management accounts for their designated areas within Estates Services, in addition to engaging with operational team members to discuss budgets, establishments and ongoing developments across the service. Further duties and responsibilities are listed below.
Hybrid working is currently available for this role, once initial induction is completed.
This is a 12 months fixed term post.

Main duties of the job
Preparation of expenditure, income, payroll and budget journals, ensuring that all information is processed in accordance with procedures and accounting standards.
Identify, analyse, investigate and work with service leads to resolve variances.
Produce year end forecasts and update regularly in discussion with budget manager and be able to explain movements in forecasted positions.
Assist the relevant services in the overall reconciliation of the Trust`s income and expenditure position on a monthly basis.
Undertake costing exercises, including skill mix changes, maternity calculations.
Provide financial support to services (including budget manager meetings), ensuring that all queries are investigated and either resolved or referred to the appropriate person.
Produce finance reports where required in line with the agreed timetable.
Provide support to finance and operational colleagues with costing allocations and benchmarking data as required within agreed timetable.
Provide support with service line reporting and divisional allocations.
Responsible for production of robust working papers for audit when required.
Develop productive ongoing relationships with relevant budget manager, finance colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders. Be able to efficiently resolve issues using negotiation and persuasive skills to achieve required results.
Deliver finance training to non-finance staff.

- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to people at all levels within the organisation.
- Commitment to ongoing personal development.
