Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a welcoming primary school? SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with additional needs in a highly supportive school in the Sydenham area.
This long-term role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child's educational journey while working alongside an experienced and nurturing staff team.
About the RoleYou will provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) relating to autism and ADHD. The role focuses on supporting learning, engagement and social development within the classroom environment. No personal care is required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with SEND.
- Support the pupil's learning, communication and engagement throughout the school day.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to implement support strategies.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to school staff where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant.
- Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD or other additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, positive and proactive approach to supporting children.
- A genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their full potential.
The pay rate for this position starts at £126 per day PAYE. Higher rates may be available after 12 weeks and are typically linked to relevant SEND experience, specialist training, qualifications and successful performance within the assignment.
