Job summary

As a NHS Medical Administrator, youll be the backbone of our clinical admin operations for 6 GP Practices across South East London. You will keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes while supporting clinicians and patients. From managing Medical Reports, Referrals, handling Lab Results or triaging incoming patients clinical documentation, youll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care. Youll help keep patient records accurate and up to date by coding, summarising, and uploading information into EMIS, and youll support essential admin processes.

Youll be the critical link between General Practitioners and patient outcomes.

This role is perfect for someone with a medical background whos detaildriven, organised, and enjoys work that directly contributes to better patient care behind the scenes.

Main duties of the job

  • Reviewing and triaging incoming clinical documents including hospital letters, blood results, discharge summaries, and consultant reports and deciding what action is needed.
  • Routing information to the right clinician (GP, pharmacist, nurse, etc.) based on urgency, risk, and clinical protocols.
  • Coding and summarising key clinical information into EMIS to keep patient records accurate and up to date.
  • Spotting urgent or safetycritical information and escalating it quickly to ensure no important clinical actions are missed.
  • Supporting clinicians by reducing their administrative workload, allowing them to focus on direct patient care.
  • Managing workflow queues, keeping on top of backlogs, and helping maintain safe turnaround times.
  • Constantly working towards personal and team KPIs relating to workload
