Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Individual Needs Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mid Sussex from the start of October.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to a pupil's learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role:- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs
- Support the pupil to access and engage with their learning
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
- Adapt support according to the individual needs of the pupil
- Provide emotional and pastoral support where required
- Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN/additional needs in a UK school setting
- Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be highly desirable
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, resilient and passionate about supporting children
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
