Location: Mid Sussex
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Individual Needs Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mid Sussex from the start of October.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to a pupil's learning, development and wellbeing.

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs
• Support the pupil to access and engage with their learning
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
• Adapt support according to the individual needs of the pupil
• Provide emotional and pastoral support where required
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN/additional needs in a UK school setting
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be highly desirable
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, resilient and passionate about supporting children
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
