Location: Mid Sussex
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Start Date: ASAP / October 2026

Academics are currently looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mid Sussex.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

• Provide support to pupils across Key Stage 2
• Work with children with a range of additional needs and SEN
• Support pupils both within the classroom and, where appropriate, through small-group or individual activities
• Help pupils access the curriculum and engage positively with their learning
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Support social, emotional and behavioural development
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive appropriate support
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour

• Previous experience working with children with SEN/additional needs in a UK school setting
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar
• Experience supporting pupils within KS2 would be desirable
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Confident supporting children with a range of needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, adaptable and passionate about working with children
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
