Academics are currently looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mid Sussex.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
The Role:- Provide support to pupils across Key Stage 2
- Work with children with a range of additional needs and SEN
- Support pupils both within the classroom and, where appropriate, through small-group or individual activities
- Help pupils access the curriculum and engage positively with their learning
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Support social, emotional and behavioural development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive appropriate support
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Previous experience working with children with SEN/additional needs in a UK school setting
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar
- Experience supporting pupils within KS2 would be desirable
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach
- Confident supporting children with a range of needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, adaptable and passionate about working with children
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
