Job summary

Ward Clerks -- Heartlands Hospital

We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and organised individuals to join the ward clerk team at Heartlands Hospital.

We are currently recruiting for 8 posts within Heartlands with the following hours and set shift patterns:

26 hours per week (11.5-hour shifts - pattern includes rotational nights, days, weekends and bank holidays)

23 hours per week (11.5-hour shifts - pattern includes rotational nights, days, weekends and bank holidays)

31.5 hours (shift pattern to include weekdays, weekends and bank holidays)

19.15 hours (shift pattern is 19:30-01:00, 4 on 4 off, to include rotational weekends and bank holidays)

37.5 hours (Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00)

23 hours per week (11.5-hour shifts - pattern includes rotational nights, days, weekends and bank holidays)

37.5 hours (Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00)

22.5 hours (Mon-Fri 08:30-13:00)

As a Ward Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of a ward. You will act as the first point of contact for patients, visitors and staff, helping to ensure the smooth running of the ward environment.

Main duties of the job

Greeting Patients, visitors and staff

Updating Oceano system with admissions/transfers/discharges

Booking appointments

Liaising with staff/relatives

Answering phones/buzzers

Lifting/carrying patient notes

Filing notes

Requesting/booking outpatient notes via Case note tracking

Scanning

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment

A friendly and professional manner

Previous administrative or clerical experience (desirable, but not essential)
