Information Governance Assurance Officer

Urgent Contract Information Governance Assurance Manager (Hybrid - Norwich)

Responsible for delivering and assuring information governance, data protection, compliance, and risk management activities across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating compliance activities and assurance programmes.
• Managing Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) requirements and evidence.
• Conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and information risk assessments.
• Supporting audits, confidentiality reviews, and compliance monitoring.
• Investigating information governance incidents and data breaches, ensuring timely resolution.
• Developing and delivering information governance training and awareness programmes.
• Producing reports, dashboards, and risk updates for governance committees and senior leaders.
• Supporting policy development, information asset management, and data flow mapping.
• Monitoring information sharing arrangements and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation.
• Analysing trends, identifying risks, and recommending improvement actions.
• Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote a strong culture of information governance and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong knowledge of data protection, information governance, risk management, audit, compliance monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, alongside the ability to influence good governance practices across the organisation.
