£25.50 per hour - 35 hours per week
Randstad are delighted to be working alongside a renowned university, who are recruiting for a Mental Health Practitioner to join their established team in East London.
In this pivotal role, you will provide rapid triage, clinical assessments, and ongoing support to students navigating emotional and mental health challenges. You will act as a vital link between our students, internal departments, and external healthcare agencies to ensure seamless, evidence-based care.
This is role is available on an initial 12 week basis, with potential for extension, and is based primarily on-campus.
Key Duties:
- Conduct informal mental health assessments and manage a personal caseload, providing timely risk intervention and crisis support.
- Deliver workshops and training to university staff, enhancing awareness of mental health policies, signposting, and referral procedures.
- Design and facilitate group workshops on emotional health topics to build student resilience.
- Liaise proactively with NHS providers, GP surgeries, and statutory services to coordinate effective care transitions and support pathways.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with professional standards, the Data Protection Act, and relevant legislative frameworks (e.g., Mental Health Act, NICE guidelines).
Skills/Experience:
- A compassionate professional with experience in mental health triage and caseload management.
- Strong ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and student-centered support.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., NMC, BACP, UKCP, HCPC, or BPS) is highly valued.
