Job summary
The Oncology and Haematology Directorate consists of Outpatients within the Colney Centre, Mulbarton Ward and Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy treatment areas.
Paperless processes are in place for chemotherapy and radiotherapy with a dedicated software system including electronic paper records. The department has a year-on-year increase in new referrals and treatments and has recently expanded the chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment areas.
An opportunity has arisen to join our busy administration team in Oncology and Haematology.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual who enjoys patient contact and working in a friendly, multi-disciplinary environment.
As post holder, you will be responsible for providing an efficient secretarial service for the consultants and other medical staff working across the Directorate.

The Oncology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking and compassionate individual, to join the team as Trust Secretary to oversee the Oncology directorate.

Main duties of the job
Support the department by acting as a point of contact for all communications, ranging between the consultant, patients, relatives and internal and external correspondence, maintaining a close working relationship between consultants and patients as appropriate to ensure patient wellness and safety is always a priority.
Assist in the management of the office administration of the consultant and designated clinical team.
Provide an effective administrative secretarial service, ensuring continuity of service during absences. Clinic list management, appointment booking and tracking, and support in training/leading staff to maintain our high standards within our acute, fast-paced department in Oncology at the NNUH.
Deliver a high-quality service within a performance managed environment. You will work collaboratively to provide a full secretarial and administrative service at a leading Cancer Centre which prides itself on clinical excellence.
