Are you an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding, full-year role starting immediately?
We are seeking a proactive, adaptable, and dedicated Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant 3-form entry primary school in the heart of Newham. You will work closely with Year 5 class teachers to support pupils' academic growth, boost engagement, and maintain a positive classroom environment as students prepare for their final year of primary school.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions in literacy and numeracy to accelerate progress.

Support the class teacher in managing classroom dynamics and behaviour across a large 3-form entry year group.

Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse learning needs, including those with SEN and EAL.

Assist with classroom preparation, resource creation, and tracking pupil engagement.
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

DBS: Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (due to the immediate start).

Experience: Proven prior experience working within Key Stage 2 (KS2) in a UK primary school.

Availability: Available for an immediate start and committed for the full academic year.
Desirable Criteria

Strong subject knowledge in the Year 5 curriculum (specifically KS2 Maths and English).

Previous experience supporting SEN or EAL pupils.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
