However, the focus for this post will be on acute care at the frontdoor. There are a number of initiatives in early stages, and the post holder will be encouraged to develop these further alongside the senior clinical and management teams.
The department is keen to accommodate special interests, and the team is happy to discuss and consider appropriate changes in the weekly job plan. Research and audit ideas are encouraged. There is a departmental audit programme, and the post-holder will be expected to be actively involved in quality improvement projects.
The on-call service is shared with our colleagues in East Berkshire, on a 1:8 rota currently, which is paid as a supplement of 5% and will be shown on the job plan.
The post holder will be expected to deliver and contribute to education and training across Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust and primary care. The successful applicant will be supported in becoming a clinical and educational supervisor with adequate provision in their job plan.
The post-holder will be required to comply with Trust and GMC standards for appraisal and revalidation, including continuing professional development. They will be expected to be on the Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine and hold a post graduate qualification, such as the MRCP. Candidates within 6 months of entry onto the Specialist Register will be considered.
