School Receptionist - SEN School | Gravesend

Full-time | £14.50+ per hour | Fixed-Term Rolling Contract | Immediate Start

Academics Ltd is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Gravesend to recruit an experienced School Receptionist to join their busy administration team ASAP.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working within an SEN or specialist school environment and will be confident using Arbor or another school Management Information System (MIS). You will need to be comfortable working in a busy school reception while maintaining a calm, professional and welcoming approach.

• Act as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff.
• Manage the school reception area and ensure all visitors follow safeguarding and signing-in procedures.
• Answer and direct telephone calls, respond to emails and deal with enquiries professionally.
• Maintain accurate pupil and school records using Arbor or another school MIS.
• Support with attendance administration and general school office duties.
• Complete administrative tasks including data entry, filing, scanning and correspondence.
• Liaise professionally with parents, carers, staff and external visitors.
• Manage incoming and outgoing post, deliveries and reception enquiries.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Provide general administrative support to the wider school team.

• Previous experience working within a school office or school reception is essential.
• Experience within an SEN/specialist school environment is highly desirable.
• Arbor trained or confident using another school MIS system is essential.
• Good understanding of school administration and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, patient and professional approach.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

• Immediate start available.
• Full-time hours.
• £14.50+ per hour, depending on experience.
