IP Network Design Engineer – Cisco ACI & Route/Switch
Day Rate: £475-£500 per day | Outside IR35
Location: UK Home-Based
Duration: 3 Months (12 month project)
Travel: Europe – approximately 2 days per month (fully expensed)
We are seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer / Designer to support the design and delivery of enterprise-scale network infrastructure within a complex international environment.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on design experience across Cisco ACI, routing and switching, and will be comfortable working across large-scale, highly resilient network environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design enterprise IP network infrastructure across complex environments.
- Design and develop Cisco ACI solutions, including fabric architecture, tenants, VRFs, bridge domains and endpoint connectivity.
- Design and support Cisco routing and switching solutions.
- Develop network connectivity, routing and segmentation designs.
- Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
- Define network architecture, connectivity and traffic flows.
- Work closely with network architects, security teams, infrastructure engineers and other technical stakeholders.
- Participate in technical design reviews and provide recommendations on network architecture.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for resilience, scalability, performance and security.
- Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in enterprise IP network design and engineering.
- Extensive experience with Cisco ACI and Fabric.
- Strong Cisco routing and switching experience.
- Excellent understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with routing protocols and enterprise network architectures.
- Experience designing highly available and resilient network solutions.
- Proven ability to produce detailed technical designs and documentation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid international environment.
Contract Details
- £475 - £500 per day
- Outside IR35
- UK home-based
- Approximately 2 days per month travel to Europe
- European travel expenses fully covered
