Overview

Our client is seeking a Chargeback Specialist / Fraud Analyst to evolve a reactive fraud function into a more strategic capability. The successful contractor will continue managing chargeback and product fraud cases while identifying root causes, trends and opportunities to reduce fraud volumes through improved processes, controls and frameworks.

This role suits someone who has experience in chargebacks, eCommerce/product fraud and fraud prevention strategy, with the ability to move beyond case management and drive long-term improvements.

Role Focus

  • Analyse existing fraud and chargeback case backlogs to identify recurring patterns and root causes.
  • Develop and implement frameworks, processes and controls to reduce future fraud volumes.
  • Support ongoing investigation and resolution of chargeback and product fraud cases.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve fraud prevention capabilities across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and investigate chargeback and product fraud cases.
  • Identify trends, patterns and vulnerabilities across fraud incidents.
  • Analyse chargeback data to determine liability and responsibility between merchants, banks and payment providers.
  • Design and implement processes to reduce fraud volumes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Create reporting and insights to support fraud prevention strategies.
  • Work closely with Fraud, Product and Operational teams to drive process improvements.
  • Recommend and implement best practice fraud controls within an eCommerce environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing chargeback rates and financial losses.

Experience Required

* Proven experience in chargebacks, payment fraud or fraud operations
* Strong understanding of chargeback processes and dispute management
* Experience analysing fraud trends and implementing preventative measures
* Background within eCommerce, online retail or high-volume transaction environments
* Ability to develop fraud frameworks, controls and operational processes
* Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
* Experience working with fraud case management and investigation workflows

Nice to Have

* Experience within fashion retail or large-scale eCommerce businesses
* Knowledge of card payment schemes and chargeback regulations
* Experience working alongside Product teams on fraud prevention initiatives
* Exposure to fraud tooling, monitoring platforms and risk controls
* Data analysis and reporting capabilities
