Interim Tax Assistant - Outside IR35

Location: Berkshire (preferred) or London - Hybrid, 3 days onsite
Day Rate: £350-£375 per day (Outside IR35)
Contract: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP

Butler Rose is currently supporting a growing organisation with the recruitment of an experienced Interim Tax Assistant for an initial 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tax professional with strong UK and European VAT experience to join an established finance function, working closely with the existing Tax Associate and reporting to the Tax Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the preparation and reconciliation of UK and EU VAT returns.
* Ensuring VAT reporting is accurate and compliant with relevant regulations.
* Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
* Supporting day-to-day tax accounting activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
* Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Key Requirements:
* Previous experience in a Tax Assistant, Tax Analyst or Tax Accountant position.
* Strong practical experience with UK and EU VAT returns and reconciliations.
* Proven experience performing balance sheet reconciliations.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong Excel skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
* Available to start at short notice.

Contract Details:
* £350-£375 per day - Outside IR35
* Initial 6-month contract
* Hybrid working - 3 days per week in Berkshire or London
* Immediate start preferred
