Job Overview:
- Role: Technology Architect
- Location: Hatfield AL10 9TW
- Contract: 2026-11-09 to 2027-05-09
- Clearance required: Security clearance
- Pay Rates:
- Umbrella Rate: £1205/day (via a Hays approved umbrella company).
- PAYE Basic Rate: £929/day
- Hours: 37.5 hours a week. Monday to Friday
Description: Own account-level architectural direction and governance across the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) estate. Be the senior technical interface between the customer, within the Professional Services Lead Partner model-not simply a project delivery architect.
Key responsibilities:
- Own architecture, design assurance and standards across projects, upgrades, migrations and operational change.
- Translate business, regulatory and operational needs into designs; resolve risks, dependencies and technical debt.
- Lead customer workshops and governance; communicate recommendations to technical and senior audiences.
- Guide delivery teams, assure operational transition and grow capability through mentoring and reusable assets.
Essential: Enterprise-scale VCF architecture; deep vSphere, vSAN and NSX expertise; lifecycle, VCF upgrades and migrations; secure, resilient, highly available design. Strong written architecture skills, senior customer engagement and technical leadership across complex, multipartner delivery environments. VCF 9.x / 9.1; VMware/Broadcom certifications or VCF Architect / Knight-level capability with proven experience in similar roles.
Required: HCX, VCF Operations / Aria, automation and Infrastructure as Code; regulated-sector and partner-led Professional Services experience with Customer context and success
Success means: recognised account-wide technical authority, executable VCF designs, consistent governance, early risk resolution and stronger delivery capability-not ownership of just one project.
