Apply for this job

Job summary

Our prevention priorities, Cardiorenal Metabolic Disease, Respiratory Health and Cancer are the biggest drivers of poor health and health inequalities, affecting all aspects of our population's lives. This role is at the heart of the ICBs mission to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities for our communities.

It is an exciting time to join the team as the ICB continues its transition towards a strategic commissioning function, with a renewed focus on prevention, population health and reducing health inequalities. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape future services and drive transformation in line with the NHS 10-Year Health Plan.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious senior leader with a strong track record in commissioning, service redesign and transformation. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team to deliver a challenging and impactful agenda across long-term conditions and prevention, working closely with clinical leaders, providers and system partners to improve outcomes for local populations.

You will be a proactive, innovative and solutions-focused individual, confident operating within a complex and evolving healthcare environment. A key aspect of the role will be using evidence, data, population health insights and best practice to inform commissioning decisions, identify opportunities for improvement and develop population health management approaches that address unwarranted variation, improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities.

With strong influencing and relationship-building skills, you will be able to foster productive partnerships across organisational boundaries, engaging clinical and operational leaders, local authorities, the voluntary sector and other stakeholders to design and deliver sustainable change. You will also demonstrate a strong understanding of national NHS priorities and policy, with the ability to translate strategic ambition into measurable local delivery.

About us

Working for our Integrated Care Boards will require you contributing to a shared purpose of improving outcomes for the communities we serve as part of a wider health and social care system. The organisation's ethos is rooted in integrity, collaboration and accountability, with a strong focus on putting its patient population at the centre of everything it does and delivering services to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and added years of optimised health. As part of the newly formed cluster bringing together NHS Northamptonshire ICB and NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB, staff are expected to work flexibly and collaboratively across organisational boundaries to support a joined-up approach to strategic commissioning and service improvement. There is an expectation of 40% on patch working, with office bases at County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester and Haylock House, Kettering. Staff can choose which office is their primary base for contractual purposes and travel claims.

This role will require a minimum of 2 days 'on patch' working in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland in our 2 main offices or partner sites
