Accounts Payable Assistant | Sunderland | Contract until April 2027

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team based in Sunderland. This is a fantastic longer-term temporary opportunity, with the assignment expected to run until April 2027. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced finance environment, have a keen eye for detail and are confident managing high volumes of invoices and supplier queries, this could be a great move for you.

Working as part of the Accounts Payable team, your responsibilities will include:

• Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
• Matching invoices against purchase orders
• Coding and inputting invoices onto the finance system
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
• Preparing supplier payments
• Liaising with suppliers and internal departments
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting the wider finance team when required

Ideally, you'll have previous experience within Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger and be comfortable working within a busy transactional finance environment.You'll also be:

• Accurate, organised and methodical
• Confident dealing with suppliers and resolving queries
• Comfortable working to deadlines
• A good communicator with a proactive approach
• Confident using Excel and finance/accounting systems
