Job summary
Our teams provide individualised care and support for people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities living in their community. We recognise that each person has unique interests, needs and preferences, and we support people to be as self-sufficient as possible, working closely with them and their support networks to help them reach their goals.
We are recruiting to replace valued colleagues and expand our teams to be able to support more people. We have vacancies in the following locations;
- Abell Gardens Pinkneys Green (up to 37 hours, days - perm) (D)
- Allenby Boyn Hill (37 hours, days and sleep-ins - perm and fixed term) (D)
- Allenby Short Breaks - (part-time hours - perm)
- Brill House Cox Green (37 hours, days - perm)
- Courthouse North Furze Platt (37 hours, days - perm and fixed term) (D)
- Courthouse South - Boyn Hill (37 hours, days and sleep-ins - perm) (D)
- Foxdown Paley Street (up to 37 hours, days - perm) (D)
- Lady Elizabeth House Boyn Hill (14 hours - fixed term)
- Paddocks Woodford Park (part-time, days and sleep-ins - fixed term)
- Tithe Barn South Bray (37 hours, days - fixed term contract) (D)
- Day Services Boyn Hill (up to 37 hours, days - perm and fixed term) (D)
All Fixed Term Contracts are 12 months - permanent and alternate roles will be reviewed toward end of contract.
Roles marked as (D) have driving responsibilities, including using our vehicles to transport people we support - a valid UK driving licence is required for these positions.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to support our people in their day-to-day lives and could include assistance with personal care, managing medication, meal preparation and shopping, and supporting with emotional and physical wellbeing.
We also provide support with life skills such as improving confidence, managing finances and being part of the local community to maintain important relationships.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Provide care and support to people in accordance to care plans
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the people we support
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Assist with meal preparation
- Support people to get out and about - appointments, shopping and socialising
- Recording keeping
- Reporting changes in health and behaviour
- Communicate with residents, families, colleagues and social care professionals
Full training will be provided for these roles - this will include a 7-day induction at our Head Office in Wokingham, online learning and shadowing established staff members.
