1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception - Greenwich

Location: Greenwich, South East London
Start Date: January 2027
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: £95-£110 per day, depending on experience

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and patient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil with autism in a primary school in Greenwich, starting in January 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working within Early Years and wants to play an important role in helping a child develop confidence, communication and independence.

The role:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.

• Help the pupil access learning through play-based activities and structured routines.

• Use visual timetables, sensory activities and positive reinforcement.

• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children with autism or additional needs.

• Understands the importance of patience, consistency and encouragement.

• Has a genuine passion for Early Years education.

• Can build positive relationships with children and staff.

Previous experience in an SEN Teaching Assistant role would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant nursery or childcare experience are also encouraged to apply.
