Cover Supervisor - Hammersmith and Fulham

Flexible supply work | Secondary schools | No teaching qualification required

Looking for flexible work where you can make a real difference?

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for confident, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Hammersmith and Fulham.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain experience in education, whether you're considering a future teaching career or simply looking for flexible work that fits around your commitments.

You don't need to be a qualified teacher or have previous classroom experience. However, you must have experience working with young people, whether through mentoring, tutoring, sports coaching, youth work, education or another relevant role.

What does the role involve?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will help keep lessons running smoothly when teachers are absent. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising secondary school classes and distributing pre-prepared work.

  • Encouraging students to stay focused and complete their tasks.

  • Maintaining a positive classroom environment and managing behaviour.

  • Supporting students with their learning and following school procedures.

What are we looking for?
  • Experience working with young people.

  • Confidence supervising groups and managing behaviour.

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, positive approach.

  • Reliability, flexibility and a professional attitude.

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people's education.

  • The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete the necessary safeguarding and recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

A degree can be beneficial but is not essential for every opportunity. Most importantly, we are looking for people who are dependable, proactive and confident working with young people.

Why work with Tradewind Recruitment?
  • Flexible assignments: Work on an ad hoc basis to suit your availability.

  • Gain school experience: Develop valuable skills in a secondary school environment.

  • Explore a career in education: An excellent starting point if you're considering teaching or another education-based career.

  • Variety: Experience different schools and meet new people.

  • Support: Receive guidance from your Tradewind consultant to help you find suitable opportunities.

These are supply assignments offered when schools need additional cover. Work is not guaranteed every day, so flexibility is important.
