Senior / Lead AI Engineer

GenAI / NLP Engineer (AWS Bedrock, RAG & Agentic AI)

London | Hybrid (1-2 days onsite) | 8-10 Week Contract

We're supporting a major Generative AI initiative within a leading UK financial services organisation, focused on improving how AML and compliance documentation is reviewed, analysed and processed.

This is an opportunity for an experienced GenAI / NLP Engineer to join a busy Proof of Concept engagement, building production-grade AI solutions that automate the extraction, validation and interpretation of regulatory and compliance information from large document sets.

You'll work on modern LLM, RAG and Agentic AI architectures, helping deliver a solution that operates effectively within a highly regulated environment.

• Designing and building end-to-end GenAI solutions for document intelligence and compliance automation
• Developing production-grade RAG architectures for complex, document-heavy workflows
• Building NLP pipelines to process structured, semi-structured and unstructured documents, including PDFs and scanned records
• Leveraging Amazon Bedrock and foundation models to create reliable, governed AI applications
• Implementing evaluation frameworks to measure extraction accuracy, confidence and model performance
• Designing multi-agent workflows for extraction, validation, scoring and routing processes
• Building scalable vector search solutions using Amazon OpenSearch
• Working closely with business, compliance and technical stakeholders throughout delivery

• Proven experience delivering production GenAI / LLM applications, not just PoCs or prototypes
• Strong expertise in RAG architecture design and implementation
• Experience extracting data from complex regulatory, legal or compliance documents
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock (or equivalent managed LLM platforms)
• Strong understanding of AI governance, evaluation and testing methodologies
• Excellent Python development skills
• Experience with:
  • LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar frameworks
  • AWS SDK (Boto3)
  • Textract, PyPDF, Unstructured.io or similar document-processing tools
  • CI/CD and MLOps practices
• Experience designing multi-agent or tool-based AI workflows using technologies such as:
  • Bedrock AgentCore
  • LangGraph
  • CrewAI
• Strong experience with Amazon OpenSearch vector search (k-NN) and semantic retrieval

• Amazon Textract, Comprehend or Kendra experience
• AML / KYC domain knowledge
• Experience within Financial Services or other regulated industries
• Previous experience working alongside AWS Professional Services teams
• SC or BPSS clearance (or eligibility to obtain)

You'll likely be a Senior AI Engineer, Lead AI Engineer, Applied AI Consultant, NLP Engineer, ML Engineer or GenAI Specialist who has deployed LLM solutions into production and understands the challenges of accuracy, governance and scalability in regulated environments.
