Specialist Teaching Assistant - Hastings and St Leonards

Academics are looking for a supportive and adaptable Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in the Hastings and St Leonards area.

The role involves supporting pupils with additional needs who may require a more personalised approach to learning, communication and emotional wellbeing.

You'll help create an environment where pupils can develop at their own pace, build trusting relationships and experience positive moments in their education.

We're looking for someone who can:

• Establish positive and professional relationships with pupils.

• Support learning through practical activities and individual guidance.

• Encourage confidence, participation and social development.

• Respond thoughtfully to emotional and behavioural needs.

• Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team.

Previous experience in SEN or working with young people is helpful, particularly in autism or SEMH settings. We also welcome applicants from care, mentoring and youth support backgrounds.
