Contract Details

• Day Rate: £500-£700 per day
• Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract (possibility to extend)
• Location: Hybrid working
• IR35 Status: Outside

About the Role
This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of a data transformation, helping an organisation establish its first centralised data warehouse and modern reporting capability.This is a hands-on contract role where you'll take ownership from discovery and architecture design through to implementation, documentation and knowledge transfer.

What You'll Do

• Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of a Microsoft Fabric data platform.
• Design and implement scalable data warehouse/lakehouse architecture.
• Build and optimise automated data pipelines from APIs, databases, SaaS platforms and file-based sources.
• Replace manual reporting processes with robust, governed ETL/ELT solutions.
• Develop data models to support operational, commercial and financial reporting.
• Improve data quality, governance, security and access controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance reporting and Power BI capabilities.
• Implement monitoring, logging and recovery processes to ensure platform reliability.
• Support future integrations and AI-driven analytics initiatives.
• Produce technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams

Experience & Capabilities

• Proven experience delivering production data platforms using Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fabric Data Factory.
• Experience designing and implementing data warehouse or lakehouse solutions.
• Advanced SQL and data modelling expertise.
• Experience integrating SaaS applications via REST APIs, database connectors and file-based ingestion.
• Experience building and optimising automated ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience designing data models and semantic models for Power BI.
• Experience implementing data security, access controls and deployment frameworks.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
