FP&A Manager

About this job

We are pleased to be partnering with a newly established organisation that provides financial, operational and governance support to charitable initiatives working to address social and environmental challenges.
Backed by several major international philanthropic foundations, the organisation has secured significant funding and has ambitious plans for growth at a time when much of the charitable sector is facing funding cuts and uncertainty.

Operating as a fiscal host, it provides the infrastructure that enables charitable projects to focus their time and resources on delivering their work, rather than having to establish these functions independently.

The organisation is now seeking a qualified accountant with strong FP&A experience to help develop its finance function, supporting both its own operations and those of the projects it hosts.

About the role
This is an opportunity to join at an early stage, helping establish financial planning, reporting and processes as the organisation grows. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the organisation and its hosted projects.
  • Developing financial models, management reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Business partnering with senior stakeholders and the leadership teams of hosted organisations.
  • Establishing and improving finance systems, processes and controls.
  • Supporting the financial planning and development of new projects joining the organisation.
  • Providing financial insight to support longer-term planning and organisational growth.

About you
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong FP&A experience, ideally gained within a start-up, scale-up or organisation undergoing significant change.

You will bring:

  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and management reporting experience.
  • Experience developing or improving financial processes, systems and reporting.
  • Good business-partnering skills and the ability to work with senior non-finance stakeholders.
  • A willingness to work in a growing organisation where processes are still being established.
  • An interest in the charitable, philanthropic or wider social impact sector.

Previous charity experience would be useful but is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates from commercial backgrounds who have helped develop finance functions in growing organisations.

The opportunity

The role offers the chance to help build a finance function while also supporting the financial management and development of a growing portfolio of charitable initiatives.

You will work within a close-knit network of well-funded philanthropic organisations, gaining exposure to different projects, leadership teams and areas of social and environmental work.

Although initially structured as a fixed-term appointment, the plan is for the role to become permanent over time. While it would be great to have this role start sooner rather than later, they are happy to wait for the right candidate.
