We're looking for an FLT Stores Operative to join a specialist engineering and precision manufacturing environment in Leeds.
This isn't just about moving pallets from A to B! You'll play an important role in keeping a busy engineering operation running smoothly, ensuring materials, components and finished products are handled accurately, stock is accounted for and customer orders are prepared for despatch.
If you're an organised, hands-on individual who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment where accuracy really matters, this could be right up your street!
What Will You Be Doing?- Goods In: Receiving incoming deliveries, checking goods against paperwork and ensuring stock is correctly accounted for.
- FLT Operation: Safely operating a forklift truck to move, load, unload and position materials and finished products.
- Stock Control: Carrying out regular stock checks, identifying discrepancies and helping maintain accurate inventory records.
- Order Processing: Completing relevant paperwork, checking order details and ensuring goods are correctly identified and recorded.
- Despatch Preparation: Picking, organising and preparing finished engineering products for despatch, ensuring orders are accurate and goods are handled with care.
- Manufacturing Support: Helping maintain an efficient flow of materials and finished goods through the stores operation.
- Housekeeping & Safety: Keeping stores areas organised, accessible and safe, following appropriate manual handling and FLT procedures.
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience operating a forklift truck in a stores, warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when handling stock, checking orders and completing paperwork.
- A practical, organised approach to work.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a wider team.
- A strong awareness of workplace health and safety.
Experience in an engineering stores, manufacturing or production environment would be particularly advantageous, especially if you're familiar with handling components, materials or precision-engineered products.
Why This Role Stands OutUnlike a typical high-volume warehouse position, this role sits within a specialist engineering manufacturing environment where accuracy, organisation and product care are just as important as getting the job done efficiently.
You'll be involved in several key areas of the stores operation, from receiving goods and maintaining stock accuracy through to ensuring finished products are ready for despatch.
It's an opportunity to put your FLT and stores experience to good use in a more technically focused setting.
