Applicants are invited to join Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care to women across Bedfordshire. Working alongside experienced Consultants and Specialist Registrars, the successful candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological services within a busy and progressive District General Hospital.
The post offers excellent opportunities to develop clinical expertise across a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological practice, while contributing to the delivery of safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic clinician who is committed to maintaining high standards of care and keen to further develop their skills within a collaborative and forward-thinking department.
This role is ideally suited to candidates seeking to enhance their experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within a supportive environment that values professional development, teamwork, and innovation.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to provide senior clinical support to junior colleagues, ensure timely decision-making in acute situations, and maintain accurate clinical records and correspondence. You will work collaboratively with consultants and the wider medical team to deliver excellent patient outcomes while upholding the highest standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
The role offers the opportunity to develop and maintain expertise in the management of obstetric and gynaecological emergencies, as well as a broad range of surgical and procedural skills, including Caesarean section, instrumental delivery, perineal repair and diagnostic laparoscopy.
You will also be encouraged to actively participate in teaching, clinical governance, audit, quality improvement initiatives and service development activities, while maintaining mandatory and specialty-specific training requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated clinician seeking to further their experience within a busy, forward-thinking Obstetrics and Gynaecology department.
