Apply for this job

Job summary

Palace Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic and caring GP to join our friendly team as a salaried GP for 4 sessions per week. This is a permanent post, and we are happy to talk about which days and sessions would suit you best [our preferred days are Mondays and Wednesdays].

As a smaller practice, we offer the chance to really get to know your patients and colleagues, with good continuity of care and supportive, approachable partners. The post would suit an experienced GP, or a newly qualified GP looking for a well-supported first salaried role.

We offer:

  • A competitive sessional rate, depending on experience
  • NHS Pension Scheme membership
  • Annual leave and study leave, pro rata
  • Support with appraisal, revalidation and CPD, and the chance to develop a special interest

Informal enquiries and visits are very welcome. Please contact Nuwan Pathiranage, Practice Manager, on [email protected] or 020 7736 6305.

Main duties of the job

You will provide safe, high-quality, patient-centred care to our registered patients across 4 clinical sessions a week. Sessions include a mix of face-to-face, telephone and online consultations, together with the admin that comes from your own clinics.

The main duties include:

  • Seeing and managing patients with a wide range of acute and long-term conditions
  • Taking a share of the duty doctor / same-day urgent care rota, pro rata
  • Home visits when clinically needed
  • Reviewing results, letters and prescriptions linked to your patients
  • Making appropriate referrals and keeping clear, accurate records
  • Taking part in clinical meetings, audit and significant event reviews
  • Helping the practice deliver QOF, enhanced services and PCN work

You will work closely with our GP partners, practice nurse, healthcare assistant and admin team, and with South Fulham PCN colleagues such as clinical pharmacists and paramedics. The full job description is set out below.

About us

Palace Surgery is a friendly, well-established GP practice in Fulham, caring for around 5100 patients in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. We are a GP partnership and a member of South Fulham Primary Care Network, which brings together seven local practices, within NHS North West London.

Our patients are a relatively young population. Rates of long-term conditions are lower than average, but mental health needs are higher, so the work is varied and rewarding.

We are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission in all five areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The surgery is in a converted building over two floors, close to bus routes along Fulham Palace Road, and is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm.

We value teamwork, respect and a healthy worklife balance, and we will make sure you feel welcome and well supported from your first day. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
