Apply for this job

Job summary

Our service has an exciting opportunity for a CYP Psychological Therapy Trainee within the Early Years (age 3-5) modality to join our team as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes.

This government-funded initiative promotes the growth and skill of the child mental health workforce to meet much needed demand. NHSE covers salary and training costs for a one-year full-time position, allowing services to employ trainees to support specialist pathways to bridge the gaps in CYP mental health support.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your learning from weekly teaching into practical clinical interventions working with clients in the service making a direct impact in the lives of children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within Luton Specialist CAMHS and be based within the 0-5 Parent-Infant Relationship Team. The team sits within the CAMHS Access Service, which includes the Schools Mental Health and other schools teams, Primary Care Access Team and Early Help embedded clinicians, and maintains close links with the wider CAMHS system.

The 0-5 Parent-Infant Relationship Team is part of Luton Family Hubs, contributing to an integrated, multi-agency approach to supporting babies, young children and their families. Through the Family Hubs model, the team works collaboratively with partner organisations, including maternity services, health visiting, early years services, children's social care, Early Help and voluntary and community sector organisations, to promote positive parent-infant relationships, emotional wellbeing and healthy early childhood development.

About us

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
