Are you a GPhC-registered Pharmacist looking for a rewarding opportunity that offers genuine flexibility, competitive pay and the freedom to work from home

FindALocum is recruiting experienced Clinical Pharmacists on behalf of an established UK healthcare services provider, supporting GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across England.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience in primary care, enjoy a varied clinical workload and benefit from remote working without the daily commute.

Whether you're looking to supplement your existing income, expand your primary care experience or establish a regular pattern of remote locum work, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Consider This Opportunity

We understand that flexibility, fair pay and a supportive working environment matter.

This opportunity offers:

  • Competitive hourly rates: £30 – £45 per hour, negotiable depending on experience, skills and assignment requirements.
  • 100% remote working: Work from home anywhere in the UK, with no daily commute.
  • Flexible availability: Tell us when you're available and consider assignments that fit around your other commitments.
  • Regular opportunities: Potential for consistent weekly work and longer-term assignments, subject to availability.
  • Work-life balance: Enjoy greater control over how you organise your professional commitments.
  • Established clinical support: Work within structured clinical governance arrangements, with access to clinical and operational support.
  • Interesting, varied work: Gain exposure to different areas of primary care and medicines optimisation.
  • Professional development: Broaden your GP practice experience and strengthen your clinical knowledge.
  • Modern clinical systems: Deliver services remotely using established GP clinical platforms and secure working arrangements.
  • Greater independence: Choose which assignments you wish to accept rather than committing to a traditional employed position.

What Will You Be Doing

You'll be supporting primary care services with a range of clinical pharmacy and medicines-management activities.

Depending on your experience and the assignment, responsibilities may include:

  • Clinical medication reviews and medicines optimisation.
  • Reviewing repeat and acute prescription requests.
  • Medication reconciliation following hospital discharge.
  • High-risk medication monitoring and patient safety reviews.
  • Supporting the management of long-term conditions.
  • Reviewing clinical correspondence and medicines-related queries.
  • Supporting prescribing audits, quality improvement and QOF-related work.
  • Liaising remotely with GP practice teams and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records using systems such as EMIS Web, SystmOne, Vision or Medicus.

All clinical activity will be within your professional competence and the agreed scope of each assignment.

Who Are We Looking For

We're keen to hear from motivated, clinically confident Pharmacists who enjoy making a difference to patient care.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Relevant clinical pharmacy or medicines-management experience.
  • Strong clinical judgement and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage clinical responsibilities safely.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality, safeguarding and information governance.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous work within GP practices, PCNs or primary care.
  • Familiarity with EMIS Web, SystmOne, Vision or Medicus.
  • Experience in clinical medication reviews, medicines optimisation or long-term condition management.

If you have a strong clinical pharmacy background but limited GP practice experience, we will still encourage you to apply. Suitability will depend on the assignment, your existing competencies and any required induction or training.

Working Arrangements

This is a self-employed locum opportunity, with assignments offered and agreed individually.

You can provide your availability and choose whether to accept work offered to you. The volume of work will depend on service requirements, your experience and your availability.

Hourly fees and contractual arrangements will be confirmed before each engagement. As this is not an employed position, employee benefits such as paid annual leave and employer pension contributions are not included.
