Job summary

The charity is one of more than 240 NHS Charities in the UK, which exist to enhance and support patient care and provide grants for projects that are over and above those served through government funding.

The Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity supports hospitals and healthcare facilities for patients across the East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) areas. It is the registered NHS charity which raises, manages and distributes funds on behalf of East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The Trustees are the Board of the NHS Foundation Trust who are responsible for the charity under a corporate trusteeship model, with a Charitable Funds Committee (CFC) appointed to oversee strategic and operational matters.

We are looking for a driven Assistant Fundraising & Events Manager to cover north Essex and east Suffolk, who is passionate about health charities and the role the charity plays in supporting the needs of local patients. As a key member of the Charity Team, the Assistant Fundraising & Events Manager must have the creativity, skill and knowledge to deliver the best charity administrative support, supporter stewardship and support to the relationship fundraising, events and corporate team. The post-holder will sit within the Charity team and provides an important link between the Charity and the local community, volunteers, supporters, fundraisers and hospital staff.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to provide a support to the fundraising and events team. The post holder will require good knowledge of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire the patients, visitors and local community to choose the ESNEFT Charity as their preferred charity.

You must be flexible, creative and highly organised, to contribute to the wider team fundraising activities and events. There may be times when this role, will support the Fundraising Managers or the Events Manager, with delivering charity led activities and events appropriate for local people, community, businesses, staff and volunteers to participate in, to raise funds for specific appeals, campaigns, wards, departments and general purposes. Working closely with groups and individuals, the ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, will be keen for direct contact with people, good at motivating and be self-confident.
