Strategic Lead – Divisional Reporting & Assurance
We are seeking an experienced and capable leader to take on the role of Strategic Lead – Divisional Reporting & Assurance within our Housing Options and Homelessness Division. This is one of four Strategic Lead positions sitting alongside colleagues leading Homelessness, Rough Sleeping and Supported Accommodation; Housing Register and Allocations; and Accommodation (TA/PRS).
As Strategic Lead, you will provide visible and effective leadership for the Divisional Assurance and Reporting Function, ensuring high performance, financial sustainability, continuous learning, delivery of value for money, and a positive organisational culture across the division.
You will be accountable for working collaboratively with your peers across the service, the wider council, and the local government sector, delivering innovative solutions, driving service improvement, managing people and resources effectively, and ensuring outcomes meet the needs of residents, staff, and the organisation as a whole.
This is a high-profile role that will see you working closely with Elected Members and cross-sector partners to help shape and deliver high-quality, sustainable housing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, visible leadership to the Divisional Assurance and Reporting Function
- Ensure robust performance management, financial sustainability and value for money across the division
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Build and maintain effective relationships with peer Strategic Leads, senior officers, Elected Members and external partners
- Drive innovation and service improvement in reporting, assurance and governance processes
- Manage staff, budgets and resources to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Represent the division in cross-sector forums and partnerships
- Support the Director of Housing Options and Homelessness in delivering the division's strategic priorities
About You
- Significant experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within housing, homelessness, or a related public sector setting
- A strong track record in performance reporting, assurance, or governance functions
- The ability to build effective relationships with Elected Members, partners and stakeholders across the sector
