Interim Finance Business Partner - 6 Months Contract

A growing charity in South London is urgently seeking an Interim Finance Business Partner / Management Accountant to join its finance team on an initial 6-month contract, with potential for a longer-term opportunity. This role is paying £54,000–£58,000 pro rata and offers hybrid working, with approximately three days per week on site.
With a major budgeting cycle approaching, the successful candidate will need to hit the ground running and quickly establish strong relationships across the organisation.
The key responsibilities of the Interim Finance Business Partner / Management Accountant are:

Partnering with budget holders across the organisation, translating financial information into clear and practical advice.

Supporting the full budgeting cycle, including preparing templates, leading budget discussions and consolidating final submissions.

Producing monthly management accounts and completing initial variance analysis across staffing and other key cost areas.

Improving the quality and presentation of existing financial reporting.

Supporting wider improvements to finance systems, processes and ways of working.

Working closely with the Head of Finance to provide accurate and timely financial information throughout a particularly busy period.
The role will be approximately 60% business partnering and 40% management accounting.
The successful candidate will have:

A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or be in the final stages of qualification with strong relevant experience.

Strong management accounting and business partnering experience.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with non-finance stakeholders quickly.

A proactive, adaptable and systems-confident approach.

Experience using Xledger would be highly advantageous, although experience with other cloud-based finance systems will be considered.

Charity sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Availability at short notice and the ability to get started during October.
