Premises Officer / Caretaker - Full-Time

Location: Greenwich, London | 5 Days per Week

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Premises Officer / Caretaker to join a welcoming and well-maintained school in Greenwich.

We are looking for a reliable, proactive professional with previous premises/caretaking experience and strong knowledge of school or facilities management. A degree or relevant qualification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, safety and security of the school premises
• Carry out general repairs, maintenance and basic DIY
• Complete regular site inspections and ensure facilities are safe and well maintained
• Liaise with contractors and oversee external works
• Manage opening, closing and security procedures
• Support compliance with health and safety requirements
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies
• Assist with general site and facilities management duties as required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a Premises Officer, Caretaker, Site Manager or similar role
• Strong practical knowledge of building maintenance and site management
• Reliable, organised and proactive with excellent attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience within a school or educational setting is desirable
• Relevant degree or qualification preferred
