Job summary

The appointee will complete on calls on the Clinical Decisions Unit, where twice daily consultant ward rounds take place. They will be expected to supervise the CDU medical team and provide support and advice to more junior doctors. When not on call, the appointee will provide medical support to Ainderby and Romanby wards and SDEC, working flexibly across the hospital. We will not shortlist candidates who do not have 2 years relevant medical NHS experience.

  • Maintain the highest clinical standards in the practice of Medicine
  • Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences
  • Provide supervision of junior medical staff and medical students
  • Active involvement in audit
  • Involvement in research and weekly teaching sessions
  • Continuing professional development.
  • Any other duties which may be required
