Teaching Assistant - Bedford
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to children who need additional support?
We are currently working with a welcoming Primary PRU in Bedford that is looking for a resilient, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant in Bedford to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs who wants to work in a smaller, nurturing environment.
As a Teaching Assistant - Bedford, you will work closely with primary-aged pupils who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education. You will provide classroom support, help pupils re-engage with learning and build positive relationships that encourage confidence and progress.
The setting offers a structured and supportive environment, with small groups and a strong focus on individualised support, behaviour management and helping pupils develop the skills they need to succeed.
- Experience working with children or young people in an education, care or support setting
- Confidence supporting pupils with challenging or dysregulated behaviour
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with SEMH, SEND, trauma or alternative provision would be highly beneficial
- Someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning
