Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting an experienced Lead Child Protection Practitioner (LCPP) to join Coventry City Council's Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT).
This is an exciting senior safeguarding opportunity for an experienced professional who wants to have a genuine influence on the development of multi-agency child protection practice.
The RoleThe LCPP is a senior specialist safeguarding role providing professional leadership and expert oversight of child protection practice across social care, police, health and wider partner agencies.
You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, consistent and legally compliant safeguarding practice while supporting robust, evidence-informed multi-agency decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing authoritative professional safeguarding advice on complex child protection matters.
- Chairing strategy discussions and overseeing Section 47 enquiries.
- Providing professional challenge to ensure timely, proportionate and defensible safeguarding decisions.
- Supporting practitioners and partner agencies with complex child protection matters.
- Ensuring assessments and interventions reflect the child's lived experience, strengths, circumstances and risks.
- Promoting high standards of child protection practice across partner agencies.
- Supporting workforce development, learning and continuous improvement.
- Strengthening multi-agency working across social care, police, health and wider partners.
- Contributing to the development and evaluation of the MACPT model.
- Helping shape how the LCPP role develops as Coventry's multi-agency safeguarding arrangements evolve.
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious safeguarding professional who can demonstrate:
- Strong experience within statutory children's social care and child protection.
- Extensive knowledge of safeguarding procedures and statutory practice.
- Experience managing complex child protection matters and risk.
- Confidence providing professional challenge and influencing across agencies.
- Strong multi-agency partnership-working skills.
- Excellent decision-making, communication and professional judgement.
- A commitment to child-centred practice and ensuring children's voices remain central to decision-making.
- The ability to support and influence practice improvement across organisational boundaries.

Location & Working ArrangementsEast Area Children's Services, Moat House Neighbourhood and Leisure Centre, Coventry, CV2 1EA
The role is primarily office-based, with some flexibility around working from home subject to agreement with the line manager and service needs.
Travel Allowance: Candidates whose home address is located more than 50 miles from Coventry will be eligible to receive a £40 per day travel allowance for days when they are required to attend and work from a Coventry office location.
Important: Candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
The post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
