Job summary

Please note as this position is for part time hours it does not meet the salary requirements for work visa sponsorship and as such we will be unable to progress your application if you do not have the right to work in the UK.

The South Telford District Nursing Team have a vacancy for a Community Healthcare Assistant (HCA).

Under the supervision and support from the team you will be required to visit patients in their own homes providing clinical care.

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with good communication skills and a passion for caring for patients in their own homes.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake our in-house development program for extended skills which will involve insulin administration, injections and wound care.

Main duties of the job

  • Promotes a 'can do' attitude and determination to develop and sustain a dynamic and responsive administrative and operational service within a community setting which delivers best practice.
  • Able to implement interventions, liaising with colleagues and partners to ensure an integrated approach to the needs of the service user.
  • To organise and deliver skilled clinical support work without direct supervision.
  • To manage clinical risk within delegated patient caseload, referring to the supervising clinician for support and supervision.
